Each year, there are more and more options for things to give, that “give back.” Last year I found so many and this year there are even more! I have been doing some research to point you in that direction.
1. Live fashionABLE Scarves – My friend, Amber, of Amber Lehman Styling and the Amber and Ash Fashion | Home Series is how I know about this project. It touched my heart so much that I immediately ordered some for people on my Christmas list! Their website says it all: Your purchase of a fashionABLE scarf creates sustainable business for women in Africa. Our commitment as a non-profit is to the development of people — fashionABLE works with women who have been exploited due to the effects of poverty. So, when you purchase a scarf you are providing jobs, and then we send the profits back to holistically rehabilitate more women. This is the beauty of non-profit….
Here is Amber busting up in people’s offices doing a “scarf ambush” and teaching them all the ways they can wear their new accessories!

2. World Vision is a wonderful organization. I have ordered several gifts from them over the past several years. I love that the gifts are given “in someone’s honor” but that they actually go to someone in need. Most of the people on our lists are not in need, and it is a beautiful thing to give to someone who is less fortunate than us. I found out about this “shop” because our church gives gifts through World Vision for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

There are a couple for today… I also want to do a post on buying handmade Christmas gifts. Keep your eyes peeled!
