I have been dragging my feet on making a decision on a light fixture and the other hardware items in the bathroom. I subconsciously think this is because I knew it would feel crazy spending money on things like towel bars when the normal mindset is just to live with what is already there. Now, there is nothing there except stud walls, so I need to get some. The ones before were beige porcelain. Yep! This is one of those things that is “the details,” but in a lot of ways, the details really MAKE the room! I was tempted to save money and cheap out on these, and then end up replacing them in several years. Disclaimer about me: I get very nervous spending money if its more than like $50-$100. I am really really good at making quick little purchases but swiping my debit card for things like floors and furniture has proven to make me very nervous! I am a budget maniac, and even though everything I have selected is in the budget or below, I still get nervous. This probably goes back to me working multiple jobs and eating Ramen noodles in college! I’m trying to make “GUD’s” (grown up decisions) when it comes to the lasting things such as fixtures, floors, etc. but still be conscious to shop around, get good pricing, etc.
That being said, I decided NOT to cheap out on the hardware and live out the idea that style is in the details. Here are the pieces I selected. All are from Restoration Hardware’s Modern Collection. I am still in the mindset of balancing modern (vanity, sink faucet, storage cabinet) and traditional (clawfoot tub, beadboard wainscot, wallpaper), and these clearly go with the modern! What do you think?
